The Blues Bytes staff gets real impatient between new releases from Rod Piazza & The Mighty Flyers, so it's no surprise that their new one, Here And Now, is this month's Pick Hit.

The big Surprise this month is a relatively unknown band from Richmond, Virginia, Li'l Ronnie and the Grand Dukes, whose new CD combines jump blues with a heavy Louisiana swamp flavor.

A collection of soul chestnuts (I've always loved that term!) from Oscar Toney Jr. is highlighted in our Flashback section.

New releases from Anson Funderburgh & The Rockets featuring Sam Myers and The Jelly Roll Kings are featured in our What's New section.
