Harmonica ace Chris O'Leary is back with his second Alligator release, Blue Collar, a diverse blues disc with more than enough good stuff to qualify for this month's Pick Hit.

Our Surprise pick of the month comes from Florida ensemble The Shaelyn Band, with their latest album, Chapter 3. It's an invigoratingly tight mix of blues, soul, funk, and jazz.

For our July Flashback feature, we look back at a more obscure live album from legendary blues guitarist Fenton Robinson. It's got the long title of Out of Chicago: The Chicago Blues Master – Live and Studio Sessions 1989/92, so you may want to do a screen print right now before starting to shop for it.
