Continuing our annual tradition, this month's Pick Hit features lists of our favorite albums from the year, with D.K, Harrell, Candice Ivory, Mathias Lattin, Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, Marcel Smith, and more showing up on both lists.

Kevin Burt is joined by Big Medicine to showcase the music of one of Kevin's idols, Bill Withers, Thank You Brother Bill, an easy choice as our Surprise pick for the month. I realize it's still only January, but this one could rank as the year's best album when we prepare our lists 12 months from now.

This month's Flashback looks back at the previous Little Village Foundation album. Everybody Needs Love, from the fantastic soul singer Marcel Smith.
