The stunning album, Family, from Memphis-based Southern Avenue, is just plain stunning, combining blues, soul, gospel, and more, as well as the wonderful harmony vocals of the three Jackson Sisters. It's this month's Pick Hit.

Andrew Duncanson was a familiar voice to those of us listening to the previous albums by The Dig 3, but now he's got a full band that wraps his big vocals into both blues and soul. California Trap is a no-doubt selection as our Surprise pick of the month.

This month's Flashback re-issues a previous review of Coming Home, from Eugene "Hideaway" Bridges. Twenty years after this and other albums were released, he's still out there doing it, and we all need to be reminded of this dynamic singer and guitarist.

Our What's New section features new albums from Popa Chubby, Allison August, Johnny Rawls, John Primer, The Love Dogs, Micki Free, Mike Dangeroux, Johnny Iguana, Ra'Shad The Blues Kid, and more. Lots of good stuff this month, with many albums still in the queue for the next issue.
