Shemekia Copeland is back with another excellent set of socially-conscious songs, semi-autobiographical numbers, and straight-ahead blues. Blame It On Eve is this month's Pick Hit.

Amanda Fish has been through a lot in life since her last album six years ago and it shows in her music, making Kingdom an easy choice for our Surprise pick of the month.

This month's Flashback looks back at an overlooked gem from Magic Sam, The Magic Sam Legacy, with songs that didn't make the cut for his most iconic albums on Delmark, Black Magic and West Side Soul. The 13 songs on this album were by no means throwaways but instead great examples of Chicago blues from that era.
