The trifecta of albums released in 2025 by descendants of Mississippi Hill Country icon R.L. Burnside has now been achieved with this new set of recordings, Red Rooster, by Duwayne Burnside. It's our Pick Hit for the month.

Our Surprise pick for the month features the latest album, That's How I Got To Memphis, by Australian native Kara Grainger. With members of Memphis soul royalty heavily involved in the recording of the album, it's easily Ms. Grainger's best of her career.

This month's Flashback goes back to early in the 2025 blues season for one that didn't get to us until recently, but it was well worth the wait. New Orleans funk band Galactic teamed up with soul/blues legend Irma Thomas to create the incredible Audience With The Queen.

Our What's New section features new albums from GA-20, Miss Emily, Earl Thomas, James Barnes, Robert Finley, Erin Harpe, Robert "Top" Thomas, a great Christmas album from Johnny Vernazza, and more, plus a nice batch of singles for the holiday season.
